EXPERIENCE THE ASHRAM

At Bhagsu Yoga Ashram, Yoga is not just a physical practice — it is a complete yogic lifestyle.

Students live and practice in the serene Himalayan environment above McLeod Ganj, surrounded by mountains, forests, and peaceful meditation spaces.

Your experience includes:

• Daily yoga and meditation practice
• Study of traditional yogic philosophy
• Breathwork and pranayama training
• A supportive international community
• Time for reflection, nature walks, and personal growth

The ashram is located near sidhpur, a 30 minute drive from Dharamshala city, surrounded by nature with a view of the mountains and away from the busy roads of Bhagsu where the original yoga studio is. As the property is amongst rice and wheat fields, there is a 5 minute walk on a small pathway to the property, so bringing your luggage in a backpack is advisable, if you have a suitcase you will be helped to carry it.

When you stay at the ashram, you will be welcomed as family. Guest will have their own bedroom upstairs, most rooms have an ensuite bathroom however there is an option of a shared bathroom. Omji, his wife Munna and his two children Rani(7) and Babu(15) live downstairs. There is also three dogs at the property. Simba, Mowgli and Bella- a St. Bernard, an adopted street dog and a Shih Tzu.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be prepared for you while you stay here, and often a fresh juice in the mornings. Omji is passionate about cleansing the organs and loves to make fresh juice. Please inform Omji of any dietary requirements when enquiring. You can expect delicious authentic homemade indian and sometimes Tibetan food for your stay here. The meals are mostly prepared vegetarian.

There is usually a half day on Saturday and a day off on Sunday to rest.

Please discuss your course timetable with Omji, as there is no more than 5 students staying at one time, this can be quite flexible and tailored.

An example schedule:

7-8 Dhiyam (meditation)

8:15-9:15 Morning Sadhana ( yoga practice)

9:15-11:30 Breakfast, self study

11:30-12:30 Yogic philosophy

Omji dreams of expanding the ashram to enable more people to have their dream career and to go to empower their own communities to heal and practice yoga. As such he often invests much of the course fees back into developing the Ashram so there may be some construction happening during your stay, however any noisy construction will be only on the weekends, to ensure no disruption to classes.

If you have a service you can provide or if you can help develop the ashram, work exchanges will be considered.

Hiring the ashram for your own retreat is also possible,

please send an enquiry to Omji.
